About IPO GMP Status

Who we are, where the figures come from, and how the articles are written

IPO GMP Status is an independent website for Indian IPO investors. It tracks every mainboard and SME IPO — the grey market premium, the subscription book, the dates, the allotment and the listing — and lets you check allotment for all your family's PANs at once.

We are not a broker, not a registrar and not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to apply, buy or sell.

How we compile these figures

  • Dates, price bands, lot sizes and subscription come from the stock exchange's own published data, and the subscription is refreshed every few minutes while bidding is open.
  • The grey market premium (GMP) is unofficial. Several public grey market trackers quote it, and they often differ. We read them regularly and show the median of their quotes, so one outlier does not move the figure. See how the estimate is calculated.
  • Allotment results are looked up with the issue's registrar when you press Check. Your PANs stay in your browser.
  • Listing results — the price an IPO listed at, and whether the GMP's estimate held — are compiled from public listing data and kept on the performance page.

How the articles are written

Each IPO's article, the weekly and monthly round-ups and the registrar pages are written automatically from the figures above, and they update themselves as those figures change — so an article shows the latest GMP, subscription and listing result rather than the figures of the day it was first published. Each one carries the date it last changed. The IPO guides are written by hand.

Where a figure is not known yet — a price band not announced, an allotment not out — the article says so rather than guessing, and an article with too little in it is kept out of search results until it has more.
